When people think eco-friendly computers the usual things that come to mind is led backlight, non-hazardous materials in hardware and low power. They are all important aspects for a computer to be greener, but one aspect of the computer becomes completely looked at is enveloping. With there being over 160 million computers in the United States, it is clear that there are many metal waste that goes into computer cases.
Well what can it be replaced by metal? A wood post-consumer / plastic composite for some time now on the web wooden Mods and complete wooden boxes were popping up, it would save a lot of metal for more important uses. Another idea is that instead of every time you decide to build a new computer, re-use case and the last and recycle old parts to an e-crushing facilities.
Dell has actually tried to enforce our environmental arguments for computers with their Studio Hybrid Line. But the eco-friendly " aspect was not worth the price. Dell offers a bamboo stick to go where the handle on the cost of U.S. $ 100. In the U.S. there is not a company that has the green computer cases, but in Ireland there is a company called Iameco where all devices and computer case are made of biodegradable materials. The only problem is that these computers are not cheap, sure, 999 euros (about 1,400 U.S. dollars). But if helping the environment is very important in your life, one of those computers would be buying dollars.
