The use of compatible cartridges and recycled cartridges for printers is becoming more common, compared to buying OEM (original equipment manufacturers) cartridges. The compatible cartridges economy whereas the recycled cartridges save money and resources and reduces waste.
Compatible Cartridges
These are brand new cartridges that are not OEM manufactured but by a third party. They are produced after extensive research and testing and meet the standards of brand cartridges. A common misconception is that using compatible cartridges the printer warranty expires while this is not the case.
Recycled cartridges
A cartridge that is filled with of ink used and is called again recycled cartridge. This is the most economical way of printing if the requirement of printing is important. Today, tools are available to fill the cartridges that are easy to use and inexpensive to buy. When the spare cartridges recycled as the heads are replaced with new ones when they are called remanufactured cartridges.
Golden rules to avoid problems
 • Always follow the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer of the printer because the cartridges are compatible performed under the same specifications as the OEM cartridges. So the same guidelines should be used.
 • In the case of filling, always keep the cartridges, if you have any printers with integrated printheads as Lexmark, Hewlett Packard and some Canon printers. This will prevent air bubbles and blocked heads.
 • If the heads are blocked cartridge soak Then in the window cleaning solution or hot water and then wipe with a soft cotton.
 • If the printer is not used daily, it should be lit at least once in two weeks so that the printer heads do not dry. Always turn off the printer voltage when not in use so that the heads are not exposed to air. Air bubbles are a problem common especially in the Epson printers and cartridges. After filling the cartridges are installed then conduct a nozzle and the test head for own good results.
 • If the cartridge has been filled and yet the printer does not print when the circuit cartridge may have failed. But it is filling with ink can cure the problem in some cases.
 • In some printers like Hewlett Packard Printer fails to recognize the cartridge after it has been for the second time after filling. To overcome this problem the Support Center HP will be convened.
 • In some printers like the Canon printers, all cartridges must be filled at the same time for head cleaning cycles the printer can be minimized. The cleaning cycles are counted by the printer and after a number it will be reset to work again.
 • Some inks are specially manufactured for specific printers and do can be used in other cartridges so that the ink must be verified prior to purchase for the specific model.
