laserjet vs. inkjet printers
vs. inkjet LaserJet?

I am trying to select a new printer to an Apple computer. I want a combination printer + scanner. I hesitate between the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 MFP and HP Officejet 7410. I stick to HP because in the past their products have never disappointed and they work well with Mac. I just wonder if I'm better with laser or inkjet. I use this as a desktop printer home, mostly color documents and the occasional picture.

Color Laserjet will be a little more expensive than inkjet, but operating costs are much lower too. A typical laser cartridge is between 60-100 and thousands of pages of returns, while a cartridge inkjet is typical 30-40 and yields more than 500 pages (and even less if you do color). The laser is also much more tolerant of paper used in ink jets. I think in the end it is the amount of volume that you will print. If you plan to print 100 pages a day, get a laser. If you print perhaps only 10-50 pages per day, the ink jet will do.
