Printing high speed obtained using this technology requires specific drying applications, these May consist of a combination of heaters and blowers, which the carrier is heated before and after application of the ink solvent.
Solvent inks can be divided into 2 category's
Hard Solvent Ink
Offer durability with the above coating, but requires specialized equipment ventilation systems due to noxious fumes given during the printing process.
Mild or Eco solvent ink
Still not as safe as ink Aquouse they are intended to be used in confined spaces and do not require the use of specialized ventilation systems. These mild solvent inks have gained market share in recent years due to increase durability and reduce manufacturing costs.
UV inks
Consisting mainly of acrylic monomers the initiator of this type of ink is cured by exposure to ultraviolet light. When the UV exposure was held ink can be considered dry, it can be applied to a wide range of untreated materials, the image produced with this technology should be considered very robust, the disadvantage of this type of printing is the cost to produce the finished image, and the important amount of ink that is actually used, the more susceptible to cracking if used on any type of flexible support.
