Using super glue as filler is a popular technique that has been used for some time now. A new twist was added this procedure makes the process of sanding done much better.
The known technique is to fill in using super glue and baking. Also used is a product called micro balloons. These glass beads are very small. They are a very fine powder that is also very sweet.
Now the real problem with these two mixtures is that it's easy to over sand, your model, since both dry mixes clear. I suggests adding a few drops of ink left by a refill kit inkjet color of baking soda.
Personally I use 35mm film canisters, but larger containers can work equally well or better since the fingers could fit in the bathtub. This allows ink a shaded area when the super glue.
There is much room for experimentation. Super Glue comes in many different forms from mixtures of very thin stuff that is almost a gel like consistency. Try using different types to see which you can work with the best.
Experimenting still on the stock of scrap before working with my real model so I can get some experience with what will happen before you go through and delete anything that I spent much time working.
Mixing colors can provide interesting and attractive results. An important tip to remember is that when the colors dry, they are darker than they appear first. The mixture of colors if they are small at the beginning will help find the right hue.
Hopefully this new variant can help you the next time you are sanding. Using the fill color will help your visibility and improve the precision you finish sanding.
