Printing to a shared printer on the wireless network?
We have two computers in our home offices. One is my Windows Vista Home office. It is connected to a wired router Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway modem / router. The other laptop is working with my wife running Windows XP. I grant him access to our laptop wireless network via the Linksys browser-based administration console using his mobile MAC address (via the list of wireless network access). We have both the fine can surf the internet but our computers are not networked. Because of the hardware configuration of the office, our Canon i550 inkjet printer is attached to his laptop via USB. I would like to use the printer my office but I can not understand how to access them. Because his laptop for work, his computer is configured to use the area for his company which my office is not accredited course. I googled it and nobody seems to have the same exact configuration, I do all the opinions were not very useful. How do I access the printer on his XP laptop from my Vista desktop?
If possible, you are better connect the printer to your computer if it is a desktop computer, and then sharing its use. Because of limitations in your computer, you will not be able to connect to the printer at all. Another option: USB print server. Attach the printer to the network itself rather than any individual computer, and allows anyone on the network to print to it and did not need a computer to be turned on and connected to it.
